Gun Rights

John McCain and Sarah Palin are ready for a fight!

Last week was the Republican National Convention–these two candidates are clearly much stronger on 2nd amendment rights than Barrack Obama and Joe Biden. Sarah Pain is an interesting choice for Vice President but from our perspective brings several strong qualities to the ticket. She’s a life member of the NRA. She hunts and fishes. Her husband is a fisherman for his career. She is an outdoor woman, and a strong mother.

An interesting side note is that her 17 year old unmarried daughter is pregnant. While I don’t think that this helps her case, I don’t think it hurts (or at least should hurt) her too much either. It’s hard to judge a parent by the things children do. Although it frequently happens, it looks like Sarah Palin is capable of handling the situation very well. She has 5 kids, one is a 5 month old with Down Syndrome. Another one of her kids is a 19 year old son who is headed off to serve in the military. Everything considered, it looks like her family will help her image, rather than hurt her.

All in all, I think that she is a good choice. I was pulling for Mitt Romney because of his strong financial and economical background and thought that he could definitely have a positive impact of the economy. However, I think Sarah Palin will be a straight-shooting, tough running mate. We’ll see how it plays out but after her speech at the convention it is clear that she is up for a fight.
